Indian Mela 2012

Elder Park played host once again to the Indian Mela, organised by the Indian Australian Association of South Australia, on March 31st 2012. The Mela celebrates the diverse and colourful culture of our Indian community.

The event featured cultural performances from classical to Bollywood tunes, row of stalls offering delicious Indian cuisine and much loved desserts like gulab jamun, ladoo and the likes. The friendly atmosphere welcomed each visitor into a fascinating cultural experience. The crafts, colours and sounds offered a great day for the whole family.

Rachel attended the event, wearing a pink sari, and was most impressed by the dancing program with such skilled local talent. Adelaide is a wonderful multicultural city and a great day was had by all.
