On Monday the 30th of April Rachel attended Adelaide’s National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Rally in Hindmarsh Square. Along with Shadow Disabilities Minister John Gardner and Member for Norwood Steven Marshall Rachel joined a large enthusiastic group to draw awareness to Australia’s need for a NDIS.
The NDIS is long overdue as the disability sector has been long overlooked and underfunded, with over 15,000 people turning out for rallies right across Australia it is clear that people are ready for a change. Federal Liberal Leader, Tony Abbott, has pledged the Coalition’s support for a NDIS with a speech to Carers Australia.
The rally was a great event and it was truly touching to see so many people passionate about more support for people with disabilities.
